The lily of lamentations: a chapbook,

The lily is a powerful symbol of purity, renewal, and the soul’s transition from life to death. It signifies the delicate and transient nature of existence.
Lamentations are expressions of grief and mourning. It implies a heartfelt, soulful response to loss, tragedy, or suffering. In the book, these lamentations are the poems themselves.
"The Lily of Lamentations:  The poems within this collection are the poet’s offerings, her way of navigating the complex emotions surrounding death and depression. The lily represents both a tribute to the departed and a symbol of hope. This book paints a vivid picture of a poetic journey, where the poet’s words are the lilies offered to the reader, each one a poignant expression of lament and remembrance, but also a
symbol of enduring beauty and resilience."

The lily of lamentations is a book that came about during a poetry class I had taken for the semester.
The book was written and designed by me. It contains poems and prose that I wrote over the course of the unit, along with some erasure poetry to create a visually engaging book.
